Your account

Delete your TasteRex account

You can delete your account and data at any time, from the app or by email.

In the app

  1. Open TasteRex and go to Profile.
  2. Tap the gear for Settings, then Delete my account.
  3. Confirm. The row changes to Account deletion requested with the date it will happen.

Want a copy first? Use Settings → Download my data before you delete.

Without the app

Email privacy@tasterex.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". If you signed in with Apple's Hide My Email, send it from that address or tell us your username. We'll confirm it's you and reply within 7 days.

What happens next

  • Time to change your mind. Your account is deleted within 30 days of your request. Until then, tapAccount deletion requested in Settings to cancel.
  • Then it's permanent. We delete your sign-in, profile, ratings, rankings, reviews, photos, lists, follows, dietary needs, phone number and contact hashes. Copies in backups are gone within a further 30 days.
  • Public scores update. Your ratings are removed from community scores, group rankings and leaderboards.
  • What we keep. A record of which Terms and Privacy Policy versions you accepted, and moderation records (for up to 3 years) so banned accounts can't simply start again. Nothing we keep is shown to anyone.
